Epitalon and Epithalamin are related research names, but they do not identify the same material. Epitalon is the defined four-residue peptide AEDG. Epithalamin is a pineal peptide extract. Treating the second name as a longer spelling of the first can lead to a mismatch between a research paper and a product enquiry.
Aurelis lists Epitalon 10 mg per unit. Epithalamin is discussed here to explain the literature; this page does not add an extract to the catalogue.
Why do the two names appear together?
Sibarov and colleagues' original 2002 paper connects Epitalon's design to amino-acid analysis of Epithalamin. It describes the synthetic peptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, alongside Epithalamin as the pineal extract. That is the connection between the names: a defined peptide developed from work on an extract. Read the original journal paper.
The connection does not turn an extract into a single sequence. When reading a title or asking for a specification, retain the full material name. A shared research background is useful context, rather than a reason to replace one name with the other.
Epitalon vs Epithalamin at a glance
| Question | Epitalon | Epithalamin |
|---|---|---|
| Material description | Defined synthetic tetrapeptide | Pineal peptide extract |
| Sequence shorthand | AEDG: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly | Do not describe the whole extract by AEDG alone |
| Research reading | Check that the experiment used the named tetrapeptide | Keep extract findings attached to the extract preparation |
| Aurelis listing | 10 mg listed content per unit | No separate catalogue entry established here |
| Comparison question | Which complete peptide identity and content basis? | Which extract composition and reporting basis? |
Is this the same as Epitalon vs Epithalon?
It is a different question. Epitalon vs Epithalon explains spellings used for the AEDG peptide. This guide separates that peptide from Epithalamin, the extract. Read the final letters carefully when following a citation, catalogue entry or report.
For a useful search, combine the exact material name with the paper's author or measured outcome. If a result mentions both names, check which preparation belongs to each experimental group before saving the result under Epitalon.
Have the materials been compared directly?
A 2001 study compared Epithalamin and Epithalon in old rats whose pineal glands had been removed. Using tissue measurements and staining methods, the authors reported similar effects on selected features of spleen structure. Read the publisher abstract.
This is a comparison in a particular animal model. Similar observations there do not establish that the preparations have identical compositions or that every result for one applies to the other. Record the material, model and measured outcome together; keep a finding about spleen tissue separate from a finding about chromosome ends.
Which material appears in recent telomere research?
A 2025 study investigated Epitalon in normal epithelial and fibroblast cell lines and in two breast-cancer cell lines. It reported telomere length changes, with different patterns in telomerase activity and alternative lengthening of telomeres, or ALT, across the cell types. Read the original open-access study.
Those results concern the named peptide in cell cultures. They are not an Epithalamin experiment, a comparison of the two materials or a test of an Aurelis batch. Telomere length is a measured cellular outcome here; it does not by itself establish human lifespan extension.
Does the same milligram number mean the same specification?
No. First identify what is being measured. A mass figure attached to a named peptide and a mass figure attached to an extract refer to different materials. Do not convert between them or assume equal activity from equal numbers.
The Aurelis Epitalon 10 mg entry describes listed content per unit. It does not specify a liquid volume, concentration, delivered amount or use schedule. See content vs concentration for the quantity fields and the counterion guide for another part of a complete material description.
What should an Epitalon enquiry include?
Use the exact name, the listed 10 mg content, required quantity and preferred presentation. Include the AEDG reference if you are matching a paper. Ask for the complete identity, chemical-form details, lot reference and corresponding analytical records. Our quality-documentation page explains the document questions.
Keep a standalone Epitalon specification separate from any proposed combination. A category label or an ageing-research article does not establish a blend formula. Confirm the component list and content basis explicitly through the blend guide.
Aurelis presents both vials and pen-style kits. Confirm the configuration for the selected entry and current local availability for Australia, Canada or the USA. Send an Epitalon enquiry or email sales@aurelispeptides.com.
